In 2021 Tourism North East commenced the research and development of a strategy to redevelop how as a region we provide visitors with information about what there is to Eat, Drink, See and Do.
Traditionally visitors have relied on printed Visitor Guides and Visitor Information Centres to provide this information, however the research conducted by TNE and other organisations clear demonstrated that visitors are now overwhelmingly turning to digital services to provide this information.
The project undertook extensive research and qualitative testing with consumers to develop 6 foundational elementns that would transform how as a region we provide visitors with information.
