The 2017/18 Ride High Country-7 Peaks cycling season has been an outstanding success with more than 7000 individual Peaks rides registered to date via Tourism North East’s new Strava-integrated app.

The app now provides TNE with invaluable real-time data, recording numbers tackling the peaks, individual rides and numbers of riders completing all 7 Peaks.

By mid-February around the halfway point of the season, which has been extended for the first time for a full month to the end of April, there were 2,2,51 registrations for a total of 7,312 peaks ridden.

All 7 Peaks at this point of the season had been conquered by 112 of those registered.

The popularity of the Ride High Country-7 Peaks continues to grow. The challenge, which sees riders tackling the seven Victorian alpine peaks of Mt Baw Baw, Mt Buffalo, Mt Buller, Dinner Plain, Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Lake Mountain, reflects the overall boom in cycle tourism in the High Country which currently attracts more than 100,000 visiting cyclists.
