MOVIDA HITS THE HIGH ROAD

MoVida and High Country Harvest

Far left - Melbourne journalist and multimedia producer, Dani Valent, documented the Movida team’s High Country Road Trip. With her (left to right) are MoVida chefs and sommeliers, Scott Stevens, Matthew Kingsley-Shaw, Frank Camorra, Andreas Becerra Caldero, Jamie Munro Lynch, Gerry Winter and Andreas Infirmo with regional producers, including from the King Valley, Christian Dal Zotto, Felix Gamze, Joel Pizzini & Ceridwen Brown.

Ahead of the 2018 High Country Harvest - Friday 4 to Sunday 20 May - MoVida founder and chef, Frank Camorra, joined by his talented team of four chefs and four sommeliers from the MoVida restaurant group visited the region to meet growers, producers and makers of the High Country’s outstanding produce, wine and craft beer. The photography and vision captured of the road road trip will be central to the promotion of High Country Harvest in the lead up to the event, leveraging the strong brand profile that the MoVida team has among the Melbourne foodie market.

Locally produced garlic, saffron, chestnuts, apples, greens, eggs, chicken, pork, lamb, smoke meats and cheese were all showcased as part of the road trip, providing the MoVida team with the opportunity to sample as well as cook with the region’s best fresh ingredients as well as taste local wines and beers.

The High Country Harvest-MoVida Road Trip was part of a series of in-region and in-Melbourne events, including a very special MoVida-style dinner on Saturday 19 May at Mansfield Coffee Merchant showcasing the produce of the High Country and jointly curated by chefs from MoVida and Mansfield Coffee Merchant. Then on Saturday 26 May, the High Country produce sampled and selected during the MoVida Road Trip will be showcased at a special High Country Harvest lunch at MoVida Aqui.

The partnership is a key element of Tourism North East’s strategic marketing campaign for High Country Harvest, which earlier this year secured a major three-year funding deal from Visit Victoria’s Regional Events Fund.
