On Sunday, November 8th, Minister Pakula announced the launch of Visit Victoria’s new intrastate marketing campaign – Stay Close, Go Further, designed to reignite tourism to the regions following the immense challenges of 2020. The High Country features prominently in the campaign, with a dedicated television commercial and a number of other media placements across print, radio, digital and social media.

The campaign seeks to highlight the creativity, culture and beauty of Victoria through its people by using makers and creators to tell the story of the regions and create a connection with consumers. The fully-integrated campaign is a call-to-arms to get Victorians moving again by reigniting the passion for their home state, while also targeting visitors from bordering regions of New South Wales and South Australia, when further travel restrictions ease.

 As with all state campaigns, the best way for businesses to leverage this activity is to ensure you have an ATDW listing, and to incorporate wording and the tags #stayclosegofurther and #visitvictoria in social media posts.
