Sourcing insurance cover has emerged as a significant challenge in the economic recovery of tourism businesses in Victoria and across Australia.

On 28 July 2020, the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman launched an inquiry to investigate the practices of the insurance industry that impact small businesses. The findings were released in a recent report which showed a widespread market failure in regards to the availability and affordability of essential small business insurance products.

The Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC), in partnership with all Tourism Industry Councils (TICs) nationally, will be making a submission regarding this issue to the Federal government early this year.

The Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) is seeking the details of your experiences in this regard to ensure that Victorian experiences are well represented in this submission.

If you would like to share your experiences with VTIC  complete the online survey here.
