Food Drink ShowCase

The High Country Food and Drink Showcase will be held on Tuesday December 3rd, 2024 (11am - 4pm).

The High Country Food & Drink Showcase will be held at Lancemore, Milawa. Brown Brothers will host the final Prosecco + Canapés networking event.

There is no charge to come along and experience an exceptional array of local food producers, wineries, distilleries, and breweries. It is however, a trade only event.

Transportation will be available from a variety of locations. Please nominate your preferred hub on your Eventbrite registration.

Access to the High Countries best food and drink producers, in one location, PLUS, FOC entry, food and drink tastings, 1x complimentary wine glass, Victoria's High Country tote bag, transport from select departure points, AND, networking at Brown Brothers.

Purchases from suppliers (eg bottles of spirits, wine etc).

Applications closed on 20 September, but in the case of an opening, please speak with our team, and we will share a registration form.

Tourism North East have developed a social story which aims to show guests what they may see and experience during the event. The social story has simple text to be  read or shared with guests prior to attending. Many people find social stories can help prepare them and feel more comfortable about what they may experience throughout the day.

Food & Drink Showcase Social Story 

I’m going to the High Country Food and Drink Showcase today in Milawa. 

I am going to be travelling on a bus / small van / shared vehicle. I will pack a waterbottle and comfortable shoes as I will be standing up for most of the day.

The event is an indoor / outdoor set up so I will check the weather and have something that is comfortable and appropriate for the day. 

I will be on the bus for a while and there will be other people chatting who may want to chat to me. 

Once I arrive at Lancemore Milawa we will disembark from the bus/ vehicle and there will be a short walk outside (50m) to the registration tent. Here I will be greeted by staff from Tourism North East and I will be provided with a name badge, a map of the venue, a tote bag, a pen and a wine glass. 

There will be approximately 100 guests and about 50 exhibiting business people so there will be lots of talking as well as live music playing. If I need a break from all the noise there will be places for me to walk to (inside or outside) which will be quieter. 

The whole event will be on one level so there will be no need to go up or down any stairs. 

The toilets at Lancemore are wheelchair accessible and unisex and are located near the reception desk. 

There will be a coffee van and water stations set up at the venue and there will be no cost involved for the catering, coffee or tastings. 

If I want to sit down there will be some seating available near the coffee van. 

The tastings will be set up at 46 individual tables and I can make my way around the area how I would like. There is no set order to this. The tastings will run from 11:15am - 2pm. There will also be some nibbles available throughout the day from the inside cafe area. 

At 1:55pm a Tourism North East staff member will advise us that it is time to walk to the Networking Event at Brown Brothers. This is a 200m walk outside where I will cross the road and go in the main driveway of Brown Brothers Estate. 

The networking event will be attended by approximately 130 people and there will be live music. There will be space to stand outside if it feels too crowded or noisy for me. There will also be some seats available if I need to sit down. The toilets at this venue are approximately 70m from the Barn on the same level and are allocated male and female. If I need assistance I can ask one of the staff from Tourism North East or Brown Brothers. 

There will be shared food and drink available at the networking event as well as sparkling water and prosecco. 

At 3pm the Melbourne transport will be departing. If I am scheduled on this transport then I will make sure to be ready to go at 3pm. The vehicles will be picking us up from the Brown Brothers car park just outside the venue. 

At 4pm the local coach transfers will be departing. If I am scheduled on this transport I will make sure that I am ready to go at 4pm. The buses will be picking us up from the Brown Brothers car park just outside the venue. 

When I depart I can take my tote bag and a High Country wine glass home with me as a gift.
