We saw an outstanding night of results for Victoria’s High Country as the winners and finalists were announced at the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) Awards last week, held in Melbourne Park. Around 1000 industry identities from across the state gathered to celebrate, network and share their success.

Congratulations to all of our hardworking High Country winners and finalists:

We are thrilled to announce that The Alexandra Hotel have this year been inducted into VTIC’s “Hall of Fame” after winning their third gold for Best Tourism Restaurant. This prestigious win is the result of much hard work and perseverance by Jackie and the team at The Alex Hotel.

Alpine Nature Experience took out not one, but two golds for Ecotourism and Unique Accommodation.

Beechworth’s own Billsons Brewery won gold for Best Distillery, on their first ever entry into the awards.

Family owned and managed since 1993, Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway won gold for 4-4.5 Star Deluxe Accommodation.

Victoria’s High Country also took out two bronzes, with Falls Creek Alpine Resort winning bronze for Major Tourist Attraction, and Tour de Vines the same in Adventure Tours. Congratulations to Mansfield Apartments who made it to the finalists in the category of 4-4.5 Star Accommodation.

For over 30 years the Victorian Tourism Awards have showcased the state’s leaders in tourism excellence. The Awards encourage businesses to meet and exceed industry standards and play an integral role in acknowledging business excellence together with outstanding innovation, industry professionalism and collaboration.

The Victorian Tourism Awards recognise winners in 28 categories and three individual excellence categories. As a national program, winners of categories 1-25 automatically receive entry to compete at the Australian Tourism Awards.

Congratulations again to all of our golden High Country winners and finalists.
