As of the year ending March 2019, the High Country attracted over 4 million visitors, which is a record high for the region. It represents over 20% growth in total visitor numbers, which is the highest level of growth of any tourism region in the State. Importantly, these visitors generated $1.23 billion in spend, acting as a primary contributor to the regional economy.
During the past year, TNE has delivered nearly $2 million worth of marketing for the High Country, effectively targeting the primary tourism issue faced by the region – lack of awareness.
TNE’s marketing efforts have been instrumental in driving demand and uptake of the High Country’s tourism offering, as well as delivering positive visitor economy outcomes for both the region and the State.
The most significant tourism growth has been in the Victorian market where overnight visitation has grown by an impressive 27% and visitor nights by 37%.
