Many regional tourism businesses have had enquiries from non-residents interested in visiting the High Country this Easter break.

Tourism North East says the advice from State and Federal Governments is clear – that all non-essential travel is prohibited under Stage 3 of the COVID-19 emergency measures.

Operators receiving such enquiries should respond with that advice while encouraging visitors to return for a High Country holiday once restrictions have been lifted.

Most National and State Parks closed as of yesterday. Click here for the latest advice.

This includes Alpine National Park and Mount Buffalo.

Stage 3 of the restrictions to slow the advance of the Corona virus came into effect on 31 March. Click here for full details of these restrictions.
